ABE BUSINESS INFORMATION SYSTEMS

There is an increasing need for highly computer literate business professionals who can develop business applications using spreadsheets, databases etc. and can work confidently with their IT colleagues. Holders of both the Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Business Information Systems will have had a firm grounding in the essential core IT and business skills and will be able to build bridges between technology and business practice.

CERTIFICATE IN BUSINESS INFORMATION SYSTEMS
There are four compulsory subjects:

1. Introduction to the world of Computers
2. IT Applications and Skills
3. Introduction to Business
4. Introduction to Accounting

Course Commencement:
September and January

Duration of the course:
One semester-full time

Entry requirements:
No formal qualifications are required, but applicants must demonstrate competence in the English language.

ABE DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS INFORMATION SYSTEMS (PARTS 1 AND 2)
The Diploma comprises two parts of equal standing.
PART I - The three compulsory papers are:

1. Computer Applications in Business & Finance
2. Computer Fundamentals
3. Business Communications

PLUS one of the following subjects:

1. Organisational Behaviour (Management Pathway)
2. Financial Accounting (Finance Pathway)

PART 2 - The four compulsory papers are:

1. Network and Distributed Systems
2. Principles of Programming
3. Quantitative Methods for Business and Management
4. System Analysis & Design

PLUS one of the following subjects:

1. Human Resource Management (Management Pathway)
2. Managerial Accounting (Finance Pathway)

Course commencement:
September and January

Duration of the course:
One year full-time

Entry requirements:
Applicants must have attained one of these following qualifications:
. ABE Certificate in Business Management
. Two GCE 'A' levels together with four GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English language and mathematics.
. An 'Access' Certificate from a UK College of Further Education.
. Pitman qualifications -two passes at Level 3 in relevant subjects.
. Other recognised qualifications that follow University of London guidelines.

ABE ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN MARKETING

Course structure:
Students must pass all five compulsory subjects..

1. Corporate Strategy and Planning
2. Strategic Marketing Management
3. International Marketing
4. Strategic Integrated Marketing Communications
5. Contemporary Issues in Marketing

Course commencement:
September and January

Duration of the course:
One year full-time or one semester-intensive full time study

Entry requirements:
Applicants must have attained one of the following qualifications:
. ABE Diploma in Business Management.
. A degree awarded by a recognised UK or overseas university.
. Other recognised qualifications of approved overseas institutions of Higher Education.
