London College of Management Studies (LCMS) hosts an MBA course which is offered and awarded by the Ashcroft International Business School (AIBS), Anglia Ruskin University, and is designed to provide the practical and theoretical knowledge, skills and understanding required to become an effective manager in evolving organisational settings under changing conditions. Programme Objectives


To develop the critical knowledge and skills needed to manage today’s organisations in an evolving, competitive global environment.

To acquire a keen sense for controlling dynamic business functions, and the ability to assess, monitor and evaluate an organisational business environment.


To empower graduates to be effective and competent in the workplace and to exert significant and beneficial influence on future management practices.

To develop the overall personality and capability of graduates through input on concepts, skills, tools, techniques and practical knowledge and to prepare them to serve as intelligent, innovative, creative and highly rational managers.



Programme Structure

There will be three intakes for the course, which will be executed over a total period of 8-10 months, and will include lecture-based course work, assignments and a dissertation of 25,000 words. The lectures will be managed and delivered on LCMS (subject to UKBA approval) premises by Anglia Ruskin University academic staff. Each student will receive an offer letter from Anglia Ruskin University and will have access to the full complement of learning resources, including library at the Chelmsford campus. Students will also be invited to attend seminars and other events at the University and will be expected to undertake research supervision meetings on campus.

 

As part of the course requirements the students will need to complete two modules in:

  1. Either Global Fitness, Leadership or Strategy,
    AND
  2. Research Methods.

 

This is to be followed by a dissertation of 25,000 words, which will be supervised by a dissertation team, with the lead supervisor from Anglia Ruskin University. In addition to coursework students are expected to do approximately 100 + hours of self study per module.


Module Assessment

There is no examination. However the course will be assessed by assignments and 25,000 words of final dissertation.

Mode Of Delivery

Full-time classroom-based study. It is expected that students will be required to undertake a significant amount of self study through additional readings to complete their assignments and dissertation.

Entry requirements

Must have completed the PGDMS programme at LCMS awarded by ABE/ABP.

Those who have undertaken a postgraduate diploma, or equivalent, at other institutions will be considered subject to evaluation.

Two years work experience at managerial or supervisory level.


English Requirements

Candidates must also satisfy at least one of following requirements for English proficiency:

Tertiary studies were undertaken in English;

An Anglia Ruskin University language test

A TOFEL score of 625, or higher;

An IELTS score 6.5, or higher;

GCE, O or A Level English, or equivalent, at grade A, or higher; or

Any other evidence of proficiency in English acceptable to the Institute Registrar.
