London College of Management Studies
The following are our resources and facilities, and any support that we can offer, we will be happy to talk about them and help you feel at home. CANTEEN
Drink and vending machine facilities are available at the college. At present we have no canteen facility, but the college is conveniently located within easy reach of a number of shops, restaurants (including vegetarian) and fast foods outlets catering for many different tastes and preferences. REFERENCE LIBRARY LCMS maintains a small reference library that is available to all registered students for reference use only. At present there is no lending facility, but students may request a letter from the college, with which they would usually gain access to the many public libraries in London and to the libraries of most universities. INTERNET ACCESS Free internet access will be available to all students registered at the college. COMPUTER LAB
The college has two fully-equipped IT suites, one of which is set aside for MBA students. ENTERTAINMENT
A varied programme of social events will be organised by the college’s student welfare officer and the famous attractions of central London are easily accessible. We also organise excursions within and outside the city during the college's calendar. Friendships are soon forged and we encourage our students to engage with others both inside and outside the college in a positive manner. LEARNER ADVICE AND GUIDANCE
LCMS has a Student Welfare Officer who is competent to provide advice and assistance for students when necessary. The college recognises that students need guidance, counselling and support on an on-going basis. At LCMS the Student Welfare Officer is always at hand to give such assistance. Should a student have any anxieties or difficulties it is important that they seek help and guidance so that we can make their stay as positive and purposeful as possible. The Academic Director, working closely with the Programme Co-ordinator will support students and ensure that there is an adequate system in place for student services and welfare. The induction for new candidates provides a platform to provide instructions, advice and written material, which are meant to be of practical aid to our students while they are with us. Tutors are encouraged, and indeed are expected to be supportive to our students, and be of assistance whenever necessary. The culture and values at LCMS are such that every member of staff is expected to contribute to the overall services that we provide to students, and be part of student care STUDENT WELFARE
We are very much aware that our students’ performance in their studies can be greatly influenced by the comfort of their surroundings. Although at present we are a relatively small college, we still devote considerable attention and resources to ensuring that the environment and facilities are conducive to academic success and the well being of our students. Additionally, the services provided to students seek to ensure the satisfaction of our students, and to help overcome any problems they may have, particularly in the case of students for whom this is their first stay away from home. The college will help in applying for bank accounts with local banks and will freely provide the necessary documents and advice for such requirements as registering with a doctor, obtaining a National Insurance (NI) number, council tax exemption, visa extension and so forth. Counselling and career advice is readily available through our highly trained and experienced staff. Regular life’s skills workshops serve as a practical and useful resource for our students. ACCOMMODATION
LCMS has a range of accommodation available locally from single rooms to flats at reasonable costs. For students applying from overseas, accommodation can be reserved in advance on submission of the appropriate form and deposit. Such students will be met at the airport (provided at least three days notice of arrival time is given) and driven to their accommodation.
