The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) was founded in 1904 in Great Britain and is one of the most highly respected, fastest-growing global professional accountancy bodies. The syllabus of the ACCA professional scheme is designed to develop a thorough understanding of the knowledge, skills and techniques necessary to a professional accountant in today's business environment. The wide range of subjects to structure to install a depth of high quality, relevant knowledge which can be applied throughout a person's chosen career.
Course structure:
All part of fundamental levels papers are mandatory. Professional level includes both optional papers and mandatory core papers.
FUNDAMENTALS (Nine papers in total)
Fundamentals level - Knowledge F1 Accounting in Business (AB) F2 Management Accounting (MA) F3 Financial Accounting (FA) Fundamentals Level - Skills F4 Corporate and Business Law (CL) F5 Performance Management (PM) F6 Taxation (TX) F7 Financial Reporting (FR) F8 Audit and Assurance (AA) F9 Financial Management (FM) PROFESSIONAL (Five papers in total) Professionals Level - Essential P1 Professional Accountant (PA) P2 Corporate Reporting (CR) P3 Business Analysis (BA) Professionals Level - Optional (two to be completed) P4 Advanced Financial Management (AFM) P5 Advanced Performance Management (APM) P6 Advanced Taxation (ATX) P7 Advanced Audit and Assurance (AAA)
In addition to completing the examinations successfully, students are required to obtain a minimum of three year’s relevant supervised practical experience in order to qualify.

Duration of the Course:
Flexible, but at least two and a half years for all subjects. Career Advancement: How to become an Accountant : Students must complete all 14 exams, complete three years practical work experience and also need to complete the professional ethics module. Fulfilling all these requirements enables a student to become a fully qualified accountant use the ACCA, use the designator letters ACCA and work in any aspect of finance or management in any business.
LCMS Course fees (including tuition materials):
All individual papers: £275 - Home & EU Students £350 - Overseas Students (All overseas students must take minimum 3 papers at a time).
Entry Requirements (Global):
Various means of entry are available to take account of differing qualifications and previous experience. For direct entry to the ACCA professional qualification scheme an applicant must be over 18 years of age and possess one of the following qualifications.
- 2 UK A - levels and 3 GCSEs (or 5 equivalent separate subjects including English and Mathematics)
- AAT (UK) Intermediate (complete)
- LCCI - 3 Higher level passes and 2 Intermediate level passes (5 separate subjects including English and Mathematics)
- RSA - 3 Advanced passes and 2 Intermediate passes (5 separate subjects including English and Mathematics)
- CAT (Certified Accounting Technicians) level B / Intermediate level (complete)
- Degree (from a recognised institution in any subject)
- ACCA Certified Diploma in Accounting & Finance (complete)
UK applicants: Should possess one of the above qualifications or one of the following qualifications.
1. BTEC National Certificate (any subject) 2. Advanced GNVQ (any subject) 3. NVQ level 3 / 4 (any subject)
Certified Accounting Technicians (CAT) Qualification: This is a vocational, open entry introduction to accounting provided by ACCA. Applicants who are aged 16 or over and complete the CAT qualification from ACCA can transfer to the Skills Module of ACCA by claiming exemption from the first three papers in the knowledge module. Mature Student Entry Route: This is available to applicants over the age of 21 years and involves passing the examinations for papers F2 & F3 (Management Accounting & Financial Accounting) within 2 years of the first examination session for which they are eligible. ACCA Required Procedures: Please note that intending candidates for the ACCA professional examinations will need to send official proof of their current qualifications to ACCA so that they can assess their eligibility and confirm any exemptions that may be available. Students intending to write ACCA examinations must: FIRST register as a student with ACCA.
ACCA closing dates for registration: To appear in the December examinations: Mid August June Examinations: End of December AND register to sit specific examination papers ACCA closing dates for examination subject registration: December examinations: 15 October June examinations: 15 April N. B. The costs of ACCA registration and examination entry are NOT included in LCMS tuition fees.
