Rules and Regulations for Admission

The following terms & conditions apply for courses run by London College of Management Studies.

  1. All students are required to be aged at least 18 or the minimum age specified for the course (please note that for the MBA programme you must be 23 or above); must provide the documentary evidence that they satisfy the entrance requirements of the course and must pay the registration fee of £100. The registration fee of £100 is not refundable under any condition.
  2. All students are required to pay an initial deposit of 50% for all courses. Balance 50% shall be paid before the commencement of the course upon arrival. At the time of first payment of the fees, all students are also required to pay the Awarding Bodies Fees (Please note this is a requirement of UK Boarder Agency). It is worth noting that when applying for a visa under Tier-4, it can often work in your favour if you pay your fees in full upfront as this shows your commitment to your studies.
  3. If a student voluntarily opts out of a programme, fees already paid are not refundable and may be charged the remaining payment for the whole of that academic year.
  4. If the college decides on valid grounds not to run a course or terminates a particular course before its completion, due to lack of a viable number of students or any other reason, students may transfer to an alternative course at LCMS or the tuition fees already paid for the remaining duration of the course will be refunded.
  5. In the event of the college having its license withdrawn the students will be entitled to a refund for the time of the remainder of the course fees already paid.
  6. If a student is unable to join a course due to refusal by a Government authority to grant a student visa (if for failure to secure the 30 points required by the Point Based System for academic matters)) all tuition fees paid will be refunded less the registration fee of £100 and an administrative charge of £200. Any Registration Fees paid to the external bodies will not be refunded. In this case the student must submit the official refusal letter and all original documentation including the Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) and receipts issued by the College within 4 weeks from the date of refusal. The College will then send out a Refund Application Form which must be clearly completed and sent back with the official refusal letter to the College. Refunds will be processed within 30 days of receipt of the completed refund application form.
  7. Failure to observe condition 6 above will lead to no claims being accepted and no refunds being made. Prospective students who do not apply for refunds for any other reason will not be given any refunds if LCMS is not informed before the commencement of the course.
  8. Anyone who has been refused an entry clearance (visa) into the UK due to falsified documents would not receive any refunds at all.
  9. If a student chooses to withdraw from a course, the following refund policy will be applied:
    • If written notice is given 4 or more weeks before the commencement of the course, all fees paid will be refunded less £300.
    • If notice of less than 4 weeks is given before the course commencement, £500 will be retained by the College.
    • After the commencement of the course no fees can be refunded and payment for the whole academic year will be charged from the student.
    • In all cases, students who have been provided with documentation confirming their enrolment at LCMS are not eligible for any refund (except at the discretion of the College).
  10. For UK and EU Students: Once accepted and enrolled on any course at the college, it will not be possible to defer the commencement of the course except under exceptional circumstances; however a deferment fee equivalent to the first intake will be charged.
  11. Overseas students can defer a course for which they are enrolled only once. However, deferment must be made at least 4 weeks before the commencement of the programme where an administrative charge will be applicable.
  12. Students who are absent from the class because of illness should notify to the administration as soon as possible and must provide a medical certificate if the absence is for more than three teaching days. All class assignments remain the responsibility of the student. There will be no excuses.
  13. A student may be dismissed from the college for any of the following reasons:
    • Disruptive behaviour in class
    • Failure to meet the academic/social standards of the college or repeated failure of the course
    • Three or more absences from classes without reasonable explanation
    • In all of the above cases no fees paid will be refunded
  14. In the case of withdrawal or dismissal all details will automatically be referred to the relevant authorities including UKBA and the relevant Embassy or High Commission. If a non EU national they will be required to leave the UK within 28 days.
  15. Students dismissed from the college will not be re-admitted. Students who withdrew or were withdrawn on medical grounds may be re-admitted on receipt of a satisfactory medical report.
  16. Whilst studying at the college, the student has to keep the college informed of any change of address and contact details (postal address, e-mail address & mobile number). They are also required to notify the UKBA of any changes.
  17. Once a student has embarked upon a programme of study they are not permitted to change programme whilst at the college, unless given express permission by the academic board.
